Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Recent Activities

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
