🔗 Share this article Battlefield 6's Relaxed Playlist Ignites Heated Discussions Regarding AI Players, Experience Points, and Queue Times Recently, the game developers launched a fresh game mode called Relaxed Breakthrough. In essence, this option mirrors the standard Breakthrough setup but includes several notable changes: Each team includes just 8 human participants, with the remaining filled by AI-controlled opponents. Actions done by real players grant full XP, while bot actions offer lower rewards. Only two maps are available: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Elements like Player tags, achievements, and career stat updates are disabled. So essentially, the playlist lives up to its title: it offers a laid-back version of Breakthrough. On the surface, you might think there's nothing wrong, as it provides additional choices for players seeking alternative ways to enjoy the game. However, gaming history have taught us anything, it's that you can't please everyone. In other words, many BF6 fans are upset. Player Reactions: From Fury to Support "People want real players. Avoid making the errors of your competitors," states one reply to the mode reveal. "Truly disappointing concept," comments a different user. Meanwhile, on the Battlefield subreddit, one user remarks, "It's unclear where we are headed with this game," and another lists all the issues they believe to be broken in Battlefield 6: "Fix bugs, address drone issues, fix IVF rockets, adjust aiming after sprinting, improve hit detection. We do not require this bot mode." However, amid the criticism, there are players sharing how much they're liking the new mode. "It's enjoyable to practice, real players prevent it from being a total farmfest but it's very relaxed," says a forum post. "This subreddit fails to see that there are players who have lives and can't play this title 24/7. Let them strike a balance," adds another. A response on Twitter clarifies that as they're "a battledad with limited time, this is great for me," while another praises the mode for "not being overcompetitive." Valid Concerns and Player Feedback All that said, there are valid points to complain about the new mode. Some users have highlighted that it could increase wait times more extended for other modes due to the sheer number of playlists in the game already. On a similar note, certain regions already encounter mostly bots in the existing playlists. Additionally, it appears somewhat counterintuitive that the mode won't start without a required amount of human gamers, even though it focuses mostly on combat against bots. Lastly, a major grievances is that Battlefield Portal was promised to provide full XP, including AI matches, but that got canned when they tried to eliminate XP farming from the mode. So Casual Breakthrough seems like the player base meeting them in the middle, as per forum feedback. A different user labels this mode as the developers "dropping the ball significantly, I experienced great enjoyment in the first couple of days, what prompted them to adjust it?" Looking Ahead: Adjustments Occur? Should Battlefield Studios has demonstrated something to date with Battlefield 6, it is that they're listening and acting on player input. Tasks that were overly hard got fixed very quickly, just like the required Redsec challenges. It is likely that, should analytics indicates this new playlist isn't performing to their expectations, they will not hesitate to change it again.
