An 18-year-old named Carys Wood, who is a trumpet player and is from Wales, has been assisted by the organisation, with awards contributing to musical instruments, lessons and travel costs - and she said it was "awesome" to be performing at the evening's event. "Pursuing music is often costly," the musician remarked. She is now enrolled at the renowned conservatoire, and added that "all people deserve the chance" to develop their musical skills. Generations Gathering Carys's 11-year-old sister, Eliza, who plays the euphonium, will likewise attend the Abbey. "I never imagined I would perform in front of so many notable figures," she said. That will feature nine-year-old Saphia Turner, honouree of a youth community award, who produces drawings and undertakes charity feats to collect donations for local food charities.
