Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events of the year due to a health issue she has been battling over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover ahead of launching next year's training.

Her upcoming training will include her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally after a long gap in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
