The athlete won 20 international appearances for New Zealand before changing representation to Samoa.

The NRL's governing body has declared that athletes who join the “rebel” R360 will be banned for a decade.

R360, scheduled to begin in October 2026, is aiming to attract players from union and league with substantial agreements and a reduced game calendar.

Top rugby league players have reportedly received offers by the new league, which will include six or eight men's sides and women's teams based in large metropolitan areas around the world.

The Samoan the player, who is with the Warriors in the competition, has stated he has had talks with the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Zac Lomax, Haas and Gray are also believed to be thinking about signing the new competition.

Eight major rugby union teams, among them Australia, earlier declared a restriction on athletes signing with R360 playing international matches.

“We heard our clubs and we've acted decisively,” commented ARLC chief the official.

“Sadly, there will continually be entities that attempt to hijack our code for economic benefit.

“They avoid funding in pathways or the development of talent. They simply exploit the dedication of others, jeopardizing careers of economic hardship while benefiting financially.

“They are, in reality, imitating the sport.”

R360 is established by retired international Tindall and supported by commercial backers.

After the possible union bans were revealed last week, it commented: “We aim to collaborate together as integrated into the international rugby schedule.

“The event is structured with customized calendars for male and female sides and we will release all players for test matches, as included in their deals.”

The new league will seek approval for its proposals from rugby union's governing body, the sport's regulatory group, at its board session in 2026.
