The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed instalment that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for delighting in violence and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while telling captivating, socially charged tales. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those elements.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a different setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing belief and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a take of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the core of society through this multifaceted and unpredictable viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and introduce our common unconventional, visionary style to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
