The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options following member complaints.
